Hello! Welcome to my website.
I am a certified English teacher at heart. My past and present roles range within education and media, I have been involved in Higher Education teaching and learning for over 13 years. Other similar roles include academic content writer, social media analyst, content developer and freelance editor.
My formative education includes a TESOL SA (2026), a MA Creative Writing (UWC, 2025, cum laude), PGDip in Higher Education (Varsity College, 2022) and a MA in English (UFS, 2017).
My teaching philosophy is perennialist-progressive: I value universal truths, classical knowledge and texts while adopting a learner-centered, experiential teaching approach that adapts to the demands of social change. I have taught a wide range of English-related subjects and I am passionate about encouraging learners to develop their individual voice and express themselves, critically and creatively.
I received the Dean's Merit award (UWC, 2026), best shared poem at McGregor Festival (2024), and the Premium Homes Prize award for the best postgraduate student in English Studies (UFS, 2018).
